All of DFW

Dallas has great rental houses. Sometimes we are the right fit.

There are a lot of good options in Dallas, and we are glad they exist. Sometimes the fit is off for a reason that has nothing to do with quality: the body you want is booked, the prep bay is spoken for, the quote came back with a surprise, or the schedule needs a delivery. Our home is Fort Worth, but like LA, anywhere you go is a drive. Sometimes it just makes sense to rent from Shine.

Published Rates

Every camera, lens, light, and grip item on this site shows its real day rate. Build a cart online and that is the number on the quote. Bigger packages get Project Savings as one visible line.

Free prep day

Book a scheduled prep day and bring your AC. Build the camera, check the glass, and test wireless in our prep bays before anything leaves Fort Worth.

Complete packages

Camera, glass, support, media, power, monitoring, wireless, lighting, grip, and the Sprinter or 3-ton truck to carry it. If we do not own it, we can usually source it.

Locations

Where Dallas productions shoot

Dallas is the production center of North Texas, with soundstages inside the city and in Irving, and a downtown the Dallas Film Commission calls "the ultimate backdrop." Here is where our packages tend to end up.

Studios and soundstages

01South Side Studios, DallasJust south of downtown. Renovated under Talon Entertainment Finance with soundstages planned from 8,000 to 25,000 square feet, plus virtual production stages and post facilities. Past productions include The Chosen, Dallas, and Queen of the South.
02The Studios at Las Colinas, IrvingThree soundstages with full-service production offices, one of the largest studio facilities in Texas and a short drive from downtown Dallas.
03MPS Studios, DallasFour soundstages, one with a working kitchen for food and tabletop work.
04SGS Studios, Fort WorthTaylor Sheridan's four-stage, 450,000-square-foot campus at Alliance in Fort Worth, the largest in Texas, and on our side of the metroplex.

Neighborhoods and landmarks

05Downtown DallasThe skyline, Reunion Tower, and the Arts District. Filming on public property here runs through the City of Dallas Office of Special Events.
06Deep EllumLive music, bars, and murals just east of downtown. Night exteriors call for fast glass and a wireless video setup that holds up in a crowd.
07Fair ParkA 277-acre complex with the world's largest collection of Art Deco exhibit buildings, and host to more than 1,200 events a year.
08Uptown and the Harwood DistrictAmerican Airlines Center, hotels, and high-end dining. The usual home for corporate, hospitality, and agency work.
Permits

Permitting and the Dallas Film Commission

Two offices matter. The Dallas Film Commission is the industry's point of contact for locations, crew, and the Texas incentive. The City of Dallas Office of Special Events issues the actual filming permit for anything on public property, including B-roll of parks, plazas, and City Hall.
