Shine Cine was created to give Fort Worth filmmakers better access to professional equipment, real pricing, proper prep space, and a rental house team that actually understands production. We saw a gap on the western side of the DFW metroplex — no true cinema rental house, no dedicated prep bays, no place where the gear and the community lived under one roof. So we built one.
Two years in.
Since opening our doors in the Near Southside, we've grown more than 60% year over year — and our gear has shot Adidas and Nike commercials, promos for The Chosen, a feature film, and more music videos than we can count. From studio productions rolling through Texas to a creator's first short, every job gets the same complete package and the same care.
How we work.
We believe a rental house should be more than a place that hands you cases. We maintain production-ready equipment and give every booking a free prep day in our dedicated bays.
We publish real-world rental rates online, no inflated book prices, no quote required just to see what gear costs. At the same time, we know how production works: some jobs are fat, and some producers are getting creative with every line of the budget. We're here to be partners either way. Keeping it local.
We're proud to partner with local filmmakers through our Consignment Program, instead of duplicating inventory, we put Fort Worth's own gear to work. This isn't Dallas, Austin, or LA. This is Fort Worth — let's win together.
The story behind it.
Shine Cine was founded by Chris Rupert, who has spent three decades in production and on set — the last twenty running his own commercial production company in Dallas. After years on the other side of the counter, he saw an opportunity to innovate in an industry that hadn't changed much in decades and to build the rental experience he always wished existed.
Chris's own path was anything but straight — a troubled youth turned around by Faith and Love, which gave him both a relentless spirit and a heart for storytelling. That transformation shapes how Shine Cine operates today: with a mission to put God first, a servant's heart, and a belief that generosity is a better business model than scarcity.
So when Chris & Diesa bought the building on South Main in 2020, the vision was bigger than a gear counter. After a long remodel, Shine Cine opened its doors in 2024 as the rental house he always wished existed — gear you can trust, pricing you can see, and a team invested in your shoot. We call it unreasonable hospitality.

One shoot day. To give you prep and wrap time without extra fees:
Pick-up: After 3 p.m. the day before your shoot
Return: Before 10 a.m. the day after your shoot
That whole window bills as a 1 × day rate.Running camera prep at our shop? Tell us ahead of time—your kit will be ready by 10:30 a.m. for a full prep day, and that prep day is free, not billable.

A “Week” = up to 7 consecutive calendar days. We charge 3 × day rate—so you get seven days for the price of three.

A “Month” = up to 28 – 31 consecutive days (a full calendar month). The cost is 3 × week rate (roughly 9 day rates). This gives productions the flexibility of a four-week hold without paying four full weeks.

It’s long-standing industry practice that rewards longer holds, covers idle weekends or location moves, and keeps paperwork to a minimum—no need to check gear in and out mid-shoot.

Yes. Billing is based on continuous calendar days, but the built-in discounts of the 3-day-week / 3-week-month structure already account for downtime.

You only pay for the period you actually used, calculated at the appropriate day, week, or month tier.

Overages roll into the next billing unit automatically (day → week, or week → month). Let us know ASAP so we can confirm availability.

Some scarce items think specialty lenses, techno cranes, or our Panther S-Type Dolly, may use a 4-week month or custom rates due to limited inventory and high demand. We’ll flag these on your quote.

Absolutely. We’ll combine day, week, and month rates line-by-line to give you the most economical total.

Yes! We can personally deliver the gears to you within Fort Worth. Please let us know in advance or inquire about delivery when placing your rental so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Absolutely not. You can rent from us directly or through ShareGrid. Starting an account with us is simple and often faster, we review and respond to account requests as quickly as possible during our business hours.

While we recommend keeping a Certificate of Insurance (COI) on file, we can also secure your rental with a credit card authorization. Alternatively, you’re welcome to rent through ShareGrid if that’s more convenient.

A valid Certificate of Insurance (COI) is required when creating an account and must remain active during the rental. The COI must match the account name, include rented equipment coverage, list Shinyboard LLC DBA Shine Cine as Loss Payee, show coverage limits and deductible, and include the agent’s contact info. Documents must be submitted at account setup or before renting for verification.

Unfortunately, no. At this time, we require a valid U.S. ID, or for non-U.S. citizens, a valid work visa along with a passport and proof of U.S. residence.
